Guns N' Roses arrived on stage so late in Manchester last night that many fans were forced to leave before they even saw the band perform.
Axl Rose and his band are famed for their late stage arrivals but pushed expectations to the extreme when they finally appeared on stage in Manchester on Tuesday night (May 29), hitting the stage at 11:15pm. The band had a published stage time of 10pm.
They then put in a mammoth three hour show with fans leaving the arena at gone 2am. It is estimated that around 40% of the audience at the MEN Arena left to catch transport home.
Tweeting about the show, Guns N' Roses said: "A tip of the hat to the good folk at the M.E.N Arena Manchester To you say Manchester, United Kingdom rocks is an understatement! London calling!"
However, the fans who stuck around did not begrudge their heroes a late night with one fan posting on Twitter to say: "Show ending at 2am, getting home at 7am. All worth it for @gunsnroses and bumping into @axlrose in Manchester."
