More about: Tom Odell
Tom Odell has pushed the release of his debut album Long Way Down back to June.
The record was originally supposed to be released on 15 April but has been postponed to avoid different release dates, so the album would not get leaked early.
In a Facebook post, Odell said, "Long Way Down is going to be released in the US this June. Things are going well over there and everyone who came to see me at SXSW was amazing. In Europe, 'Another Love' has been in the top 10 in a few countries, which is awesome so we're going to put out the record across Europe too. Really happy about it all and thank you to everyone who's helped me get to this point.
He continued, "The flipside of all this is that the UK release of Long Way Down needs to go back to June so Long Way Down demo that all the release dates across the world are the same. These days having different release dates would mean the album may end up getting leaked, which is not fair on all of you who paid for it.
"All your pre-orders are still valid of course and I'm really sorry to keep you waiting longer. Hope you understand it's for the right reasons, I'm sorry, but to keep you going until then here's a free download of the Long Way Down demo."
Odell spent time with Taylor Swift after the BRIT awards
Odell was recently spotted on a date with 'I Knew You Were Trouble' singer Taylor Swift. Speaking about Swift to The Guardian, Odell said, "Uh. Pretty crazy, you know. She's just a lovely 23-year-old girl.
"There's not really much more to it. I have to be careful what I say. That whole little escapade was, I don't know... It was very cool."
