The Official Charts Company reports that 'Let Her Go' is only the 141st single in the UK to ever sell over a million units, and only the third independently-released million seller of the millennium. Four singles have never shifted more than a million copies since 1998.
Passenger, real name Mike Rosenberg told the Official Charts Company: "I’ve been busking and playing tiny gigs in pubs, so for one of my songs to suddenly get so popular is not only a dream come true, but also a huge surprise."

The track joins the ranks of 'Get Lucky' by Daft Punk, which was the first single of the year to sell one million copies in June, we well as Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' and 'Wake Me Up' by Avicii.
Managing Director of the Official Charts Company Martin Talbot said: "Congratulations to Passenger and his label Nettwerk on scoring only the third independent million selling single this Millennium. 'Let Her Go' is not only one of the singles of the year, it is one of the classics of the digital era – as this achievement underlines."
