Lana Del Rey has accused The Guardian of asking her leading questions in a controversial recent interview, but says that most people she meets "figure I kind of want to kill myself anyway."

The singer recently said in an interview with The Guardian, "I wish I was dead already" during a conversation about how all her idols died young. The comments caused concern and controversy, with Kurt Cobain's daughter Frances Bean Cobain criticising Del Rey for glamourising dying young.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Del Rey said, "I feel fucking crazy, but I don't think I am. People make me feel crazy." The singer accused The Guardian of asking leading questions, but added: "I find that most people I meet figure I kind of want to kill myself anyway. So, it comes up every time."

The singer also admitted, when asked how she wants people to hear lyrics such as "He hit me and it felt like a kiss", that her music is not written for anyone other than herself: "I just don't want [people] to hear it at all. I'm very selfish. I make everything for me, kind of."

She added: "I mean, every little thing, down to the guitar and the drums. It's just for me.. I don't want them to hear it and think about it. It's none of their business!"

Lana Del Rey's new album, Ultraviolence, was released last month. She recently revealed that 'Ultraviolence' will be the next single from the album.
