Speaking to Gigwise backstage at Reading Festival, the band said that they were already putting their thoughts together for record No.2.
"We've just recorded a song but that's for a specific project and not neccessarily the album, but I think it's been good to go back in and start working those muscles again," said singer Lauren Mayberry. "We're excited to go back, but we probably need to not be on the road any more. I think the plan is to tour until the end of November, start of December and then pack up shop for a bit and see what happens."
When asked about the sound of the new track, Lauren continued: "I wouldn't say it's like reinventing the wheel in terms of the sound of the band, but I think when we properly get in to the studio, we'll probably put into play stuff we've learned from playing the songs live, but I guess at this stage it's hard to say exactly where that's going to be because we haven't made it yet."
Bassist and synth player Iain Cook continued: "It's important for us that there'a sense of progression, but like Lauren said, we're not about to become a Peruvian folk ensemble or anything like that."
Synth player and singer Martin Doherty added: "Everyone knows you don't go mad weird until your third record. First album, you establish yourself, second album is similar but better and third album you can go as weird as you like."
