Björk has issued a statement regarding the death of her friend and producer Mark Bell.
Writing on her Facebook page the singer declared: "I love you Mark and I feel so blessed to have made so much music with you. May your hypersensitive nature blossom fine and wherever you're at hope you've got good speakers."
Yesterday Warp Records issued a statement that Bell, who worked with Bjork on Homogenic and a number of other tours, had died.
The label said in a statement: "It's with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Mark Bell of LFO who died last week from complications after an operation. Marks family & friends request privacy at this difficult time."
Bell collaborated on a huge range of artists including Bjork and Depeche Mode, who he worked on with on 2001's Exciter album.
Bell collaborated on Bjork's tours in 1998 and 2007-2008 for Volta and also appeared in her video for Declare Independence.
In what appears to be a tragic coincidence, Bjork posted Bell's remix of 'Possibly Maybe' on her Facebook earlier this week.
Members of the electronica community are already paying tribute to Bell on Twitter with tributes from Mint Royale, Zomby and Sister Bliss. The Faithless DJ tweeted "Very sad & shocked to hear a total legend and one of my heroes has passed away. RIP Mark Bell #LFO".
The New Yorker's Sasha Frere-Jones also paid tribute, tweeting "One of the first on Warp? Produced most of the Björk albums you love? Mark Bell. Major loss. There was so much more to hear."
