Ahead of tonight's Mercury Prize announcement, it's been revealed that GoGo Penguin's nomination led to a 138% increase in album sales, while Anna Calvi's only went up by 6%.
According to data released by the Official Charts Company, GoGo Penguin's album v2.0 had sold 1,522 copies before their nomination, and has sold 2,095 since - meaning a percentage increase of 138%.

Kate Tempest has also seen an impressive boost of 124%, whilst Royal Blood, who had already sold a whopping 95,258 before their nomination, have sold 59,060 since.
Artists whose nomination has made little impact though include Bombay Bicycle Club, who have seen an increase of just 7%, and Anna Calvi, who has sold 800 copies of One Breath since her nomination, an increase of 6%. No artist's album sales have fallen.
