Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page has credited Royal Blood for taking "rock to a new realm".
The guitarist has already admitted he is a fan of the band, attending one of their shows in New York last May, and joins fellow admirer Dave Grohl, who called their debut album "so encouraging" earlier this month.
Speaking to NME, Page revealed: "I went to hear them in New York. They were fantastic. Absolutely riveting. They're such fine musicians. However long the set was, I could have heard twice as much. Their album has taken the genre up a serious few notches."
He added: "It's so refreshing to hear, because they play with the spirit of the things that have preceded them, but you can hear they're going to take rock into a new realm – if they're not already doing that. It's music of tremendous quality."
Unfortunately, Royal Blood have been forced to postpone part of their tour this month due to singer Mike Kerr falling ill following their EMA performance in Glasgow.
The band's UK dates have been rescheduled for 19 December (Bristol Bierkeller), 7 January , 2015 (Portsmouth Pyramids) and 8 January (Oxford O2 Academy).
