'These Days', the act's first release as a trio, bested Geldof's starry ensemble by just 3,400 copies. It's the man band's first number one in six years since 'Greatest Day' and comes after the band's new album III became the most pre-ordered album of all time in Amazon's history.

Elsewhere in the charts McBusted, despite having already booked one of the biggest tours of 2015, only could achive No.12. Jennifer Lawrence's much discussed track from the Hunger Games entered at No.14. Brit Critics choice James Bay entered at No.18 and Years & Years entered at 22.
In somewhat surprising news Now 89, the hardy perennial of the compilation market, has become the fastest-selling album of 2014 after shifting 283,000 copies in its first week of sale.
