Manic Street Preachers' collaborator Sean Read was one of nearly 40 BA passengers who were stranded at Mumbai airport for over 24 hours.

The passengers all missed their connection flight due to delays, and were forced to sleep on the floor.

Speaking to BBC News, Read described how a "massive shouting match" had erupted between staff. He added, "Staff left us to sleep on the airport floor. There were kids, people in wheelchairs and we were offered no food or hotels."

According to Read's Twitter though, he has now managed to fly out of the airport. He tweeted, "Looks like all this press has done the trick. Everyone now has boarding passes. Even though some had to pay big time."

Read was live keyboard player for the Manics between 2006 - 2012, and collaborated with the band on material for their 2013 album, Rewind The Film.

Manic Street Preachers played a series of gigs in December to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their 1994 Holy Bible album - during which they played the album in full.
