More about: Morrissey
Morrissey has caused a stir after refusing to play a gig in Iceland because the venue refuse to go vegetarian for the evening.
The iconic Manc misanthrope, Smiths legend and solo hero was in talks to perform at Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik, but told fan-site and official mouth-piece True-To-You that he was abandoning the plans after the venue refused to sell only vegetarian food for the evening of the would-be gig.
"I love Iceland and I have waited a long time to return, but I shall leave the Harpa Concert Hall to their cannibalistic flesh-eating bloodlust ... "
Previous tours and festival appearances have seen venues fall in line with Morrissey strict vege policy. We enjoyed a pretty good vegetarian curry at his show at The O2 in London.
