Joni Mitchell has again discussed what she thinks of rumours that Taylor Swift would play her in a biopic, and it's not great.
In an interview with New York Mag, Mitchell expressed what can only be described as total antipathy to both Taylor Swift and the biopic itself - once rumoured to be called Girls Like Us.
"I've never heard Taylor's music," she said. "I've seen her. Physically, she looks similarly small-hipped and high cheekbones. I can see why they cast her. I don't know what her music sounds like, but I do know this — that if she's going to sing and play me, good luck."
Following the publication of the article, a representative of Swift contacted Rolling Stone to give their two cents on the matter. "It's a shame Joni keeps being asked about a movie that Taylor was rumored to be a part of," the rep said. "But this rumour, like many others casting rumours, is not true."
So there we have it - no one cares and no one is any the wiser.
Speaking to The Sunday Times about the Swift rumours last year, Mitchell said: "I squelched that! I said to the producer, 'All you've got is a girl with high cheekbones. It's just a lot of gossip, you don't have the great scenes.'
"There's a lot of nonsense about me in books: assumptions, assumptions, assumptions."
