Kasabian's Tom Meighan has launched a bizarre attack on boy band One Direction and predicted the five piece will "fall out and do too many drugs".

Speaking to The Sun, the Kasabian frontman launched a seemingly unprovoked rant about the boy band, claiming they are manufactured (which is true) and lack any real musical soul. ''They're f***ing millionaires but they're five no-ones who won the lottery" Meighan explained. "They're massive, but they're a product, we're not. 'They're like shampoo. You buy it to put in your hair and wash it out, like the Spice Girls."

Meighan also believes that the end is nigh for One Direction. ''Thing is, they'll all get angry with each other, fall out and do too many drugs. They'll wanna be f***ing arty and do something clever and they'll break up.''

Meighan's bandmate Serge Pizzorno  also seems to come to term with his band no longer being recognised at the Brits. As previously reported, Pizzorno had expressed his frustrations that, despite headlining Glastonbury, the band hadn't been nominated in any Brits category. "It's a conspiracy" Pizzorno told the Independent. "They're trying to shut rock n' roll out of [the Brits]. What sort of message does that send to working class rock n' roll bands which the industry is in dire need of?"

Now Pizzorno appears to have come up with the best possible solution. He explained to The Sun that on the night itself: ''I'm gonna be at the beach somewhere, smoking great weed and drinking incredible rum cocktails. ''That's much more than a consolation prize. It's a winner.''

Kasabian's previous arena tour included five sold out nights at London's Brixton Academy. They announced before Christmas that they plan to play even bigger venues in 2015. "That's the next step: Wembley and Murrayfield, and then beyond. It's stadium time. It has to be."

Kasabian are expected to return to the road in the UK for string of festival dates in 2015, with the band currently rumoured for the likes of Reading and Leeds.
