The grave of Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell has been vandalised by the former lead singer of a band called Nuclear Hellfrost.
The news was made public on Pantera's Facebook page, where they shared a screenshot of a Tumblr post by someone calling themselves “crustyplague.”
The person, now identified as Reece Eber, wrote, “i HATE pantera…with a passion. and so does the rest of my band. so on tour going throug [sic] texas we paid douchebag darrell a visit, we spit on his grave, stole a pair of cowboy boots, and i wrote ‘F–’ on his grave… i’m not a homophobe but i hope all panturrrra fans see this and s— themselves with anger…"
The band responded by saying “We are absolutely disgusted by this! We ask that all of you please show Dime & his grave the respect he deserves. This conduct will not be tolerated and the authorities have been notified.”
Dimebag Darrell was shot and killed while performing onstage in Ohio on 8 December 2004. The gunman, Nathan Gale was a former Marine with a history of mental illness and was killed at the scene by a police officer.
