In the latest of some truly incredible interviews, Noel Gallagher has slated bands who are more focused on fashion - including Maroon 5 and his brother Liam.

In an entertaining encounter with Vogue, Noel is asked about his opinion about his brother's range for Pretty Green and his appreciation of style in general. "Everybody likes nice clothes, but I’m not from the school of thought where I think a scarf can change the world." He singles it out as one of the major differences between him and Liam. "The thing that differs between me and my fucking . . . uh, brother is that he was always obsessed with looking good, and I’m continually obsessed with being good."

When asked a follow-up question as to what Liam got up to after Beady Eye broke up, Noel declared, "You know that thing they have in Switzerland, the Hadron Collider, where they’re just smashing atoms into each other to see what the fuck happens? I think he’s got one of those in his house which is just throwing desert boots at each other, in the hope that they will fuckin’ create some kind of fusion, and out will pop the perfect desert boot that will never be bettered by any other human being."

Warming to his theme Gallagher also take aim at those he believes value style over substance. "If your songs are OK, then your songs will seem better if you look good—like those fuckwits from Maroon 5. The tattoos take your mind off the fact that they’re shit. OK? Right? But with Oasis, it was 'God those fuckin’ songs are great.' It’s all about the music."

When asked to compare his solo work to performing with Oasis in their prime: "If you could sum up my career with films, Oasis was a cross between The Wolf of Wall Street and Saving Private Ryan—it was all about the struggle and the chaos. My first solo album was like Titanic—it was a love story—and this part of my career is like a really cool TV series, like Breaking Bad."

Noel also described how he and his brother are "two sides of the same coin, really—it’s what made Oasis what it was: It was my industry and songs, and his chaos and pyrotechnics. And you couldn’t have one without the other: Liam without me clearly crashed and failed. Me without Liam is never going to sell out stadiums around the world, but I can live with that."

Noel Gallagher's impressive second album with High Flying Birds, Chasing Yesterday was released on Monday. It's the highest compliment to say that it is as entertaining as Gallagher's recent press campaign. Highlights have included complaining about Beyonce, complaining about Ocado, saying he would rather 'drink petrol' than read an Alex Turner interview.

Despite recently announcing "It doesn't look like I'm playing Glastonbury" Gallagher is still among the rumoured acts to top the bill at the festival this year. He is also headlining London's Calling Festival and will appear at T In The Park

Gallagher's other upcoming UK tour dates are below. For tickets see below.
