5ive have cancelled their appearance at a forthcoming Brexit concert after learning that it was a political rally.
You’d have though the fact that they were sharing the bill with Nigel Farage might have been a clue. Or the fact that the event was called Brexit Live and was being organised by Leave.EU. Apparently not.
According to The Mirror, the band - who were set to be 2wo for the evening as only Ritchie Neville and Scott Robinson were set to appear - will no longer be performing. Though they initially told the publication that it was simply the chance to “entertain an audience at a fantastic venue in the heart of the UK’, it seems they’ve since had an epiphany.
Despite this setback, the event is still set to take place, and Alesha Dixon, East 17, Sister Sledge, and Rose Royce’s Gwen Dickey are all still on the bill.
5ive’s cancellation follows that of former headliners Sigma, who also didn’t realise that it was a pro-Brexit rally.
