Mumford & Sons have announced a last-minute surprise show, which will be held tonight (Monday April 6) at New York City’s Le Poisson Rouge venue.
The band are expected to showcase new material from their forthcoming album, Wilder Mind, which is set for release on May 4.
The event is already sold out. Tickets went on sale at 9am this morning, causing the website to temporarily crash.
A statement on the venue's website reads: "As the band will be playing new music at the show, they have requested that all mobile phones and all recording devices are prohibited inside the venue. If you decide to bring your phone with you, please make sure you arrive early so that you can have it checked in in time. You’ll get it back safe and sound after the show, we promise."
Mumford & Sons played another last-minute, intimate show at London’s Oslo venue in Hackney last month, previewing new material, including their latest single ‘Believe’, which has received mixed reviews due to its lack of trademark banjo and its similar sound to Coldplay.
