The National have announced a vinyl box set featuring a six-hour performance of their song 'Sorrow'.
The band staged a "durational performance" back in 2013 with the Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson, where they performed the song "Sorrow" from 2010's High Violet for six hours straight, as part of MoMA PS1's Sunday Sessions.
Now, the band has announced a limited edition 9xLP vinyl box set of the performance, titled A Lot of Sorrow, set for release 22nd June via 4AD. All profits from the box set will be donated to health care organisation Partners In Health.
he $150 collection contains nine clear pieces of vinyl in plastic sleeves, themselves cased in a screen printed, translucent box. The box set is able to pre-order now on ALotOfSorrow.com, which also features a video of the performance itself.
