Named as a boundary breaker, Kanye West has been featured among TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2015.
As someone who can command an incredibly strong reaction, be it positive or negative, every time he does pretty much anything - why not?
"The dude doesn’t believe in false modesty, and he shouldn’t," says Elon Musk in his essay about the rapper. “Kanye’s belief in himself and his incredible tenacity - he performed his first single with his jaw wired shut - got him to where he is today. And he fought for his place in the cultural pantheon with a purpose."
"…Kanye does think. Constantly. About everything," continues Elon Musk. "And he wants everybody to do the same: to engage, question, push boundaries … He’s not afraid of being judged or ridiculed in the process."
He joins Bradley Cooper, Emma Watson, and Tim McGraw on this year’s list. He’s made the coveted front cover of the magazine too, along with Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Misty Copeland, and Jorge Ramos.
