More about:

Whether you're a fan of the Royal family or not, escaping this week's Royal Wedding is a virtually impossible task.

As the countdown to Prince William and Kate Middleton's big day on April 29 continues, Gigwise has put together a list of potential alternative first dance songs for the couple.

We've tried to keep things as different as possible - you won't find any Robbie Williams or Bon Jovi, but there are appearances from the likes of Sex Pistols, Lady Gaga and the Prince's favourite, Linkin Park.

What do you think of the list? Can you think of any more? Post your thoughts in the comment form at the bottom of this page – if you're on Facebook, you'll already be logged in.

You can also listen to our Royal Wedding First Dance playlist on Spotify.

  • Linkin Park, 'Numb': One of the Prince's favourite bands, the lyrics to Linkin Park's 'Numb' seem very appropriate.

  • Sex Pistols, 'God Save The Queen': Perhaps the most obvious selection for any anti-royalists in attendance.

  • Katy Perry, 'Hot N Cold': The Prince has not always been sure about marriage, so why not stick on a bit of Katy Perry and remind Kate about it.

  • Beyoncé, 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)': Probably one for Chelsea Davey, if she's set to accompany Prince Harry to the wedding.

  • Franz Ferdinand, 'Katherine Kiss Me': A rare number from the Scottish band which would seem fitting on the big day.

  • The Smiths, 'William, It Was Really Nothing': Probably something Kate will be whispering into William's ear after the wedding.

  • Manic Street Preachers, 'Repeat': Another anti-monarchist number from the Manics...

  • Public Enemy, 'Fight The Power': A good option if the Prince plans some kind of wedding day usurpation.

  • Lady Gaga, 'Bad Romance': Things haven't always been rosy between the Royal couple, and who better than Lady Gaga to symbolise that.

  • Queen, 'Don't Stop Me Now': Once she's part of the family, will Kate's eyes turn to the thrown?

  • Pulp, 'Common People': If the Daily Mail is to be believed, Kate Middleton is as common as they come. This might be one of her choices then.

  • Deftones, 'Royal': Deftones - not exactly the Royal Family's number one fan.

  • Paul Weller, 'The Changingman': The former Jam frontman has never been a fan of establishment, but his hit would certainly represent William Wales' climb towards the throne.

  • Adam & The Ants, 'Prince Charming': The answer's in the title.

  • The Cure, 'Friday I'm In Love': One for the romantics.

  • Stealers Wheel, 'Stuck In The Middle With You': Finding yourself marrying into the Royal Family can be complicated, just ask...wait, it's too early still.

  • The Offspring, 'Why Don't You Get A Job?': One to remind Kate Middleton that she's not going to be applying to work at her local Spa again.

  • Gorillaz, 'Dirty Harry': Well, Harry would want some kind of presence, wouldn't he?

  • Elton John, 'Tiny Dancer': An artist close to William's heart, Sir Elton John will be in attendance at Westminster Abbey.

  • Snoop Dogg, 'Wet': Written by the rapper for the Prince's stag do, perhaps 'Wet' wouldn't be the best of songs.
