After dominating the main stage at Reading and Leeds Festival earlier this year, a sold out headline show at London's Roundhouse should be easy right? It's the last night of the tour so let's see if Don Broco have got what it takes to leave their own mark on this iconic venue.
The evening started off magnificently, with Lonely The Brave warming up the crowd with impressive aplomb. Bad Rabbits brought the funk all the way from Boston, with slick guitar lines and dance moves that sent fans into a grooving frenzy.
However, as Don Broco bounce onto the stage (with frontman Rob Damiani wearing the whitest trousers in the history of the world) the foursome storm into newest single 'You Wanna Know', with the beefy guitar chords blasting out through the speakers. The room is suddenly exploding with people, bodies flying in all directions and jumping in unison like a giant wave. From this moment on it's clear that Don Broco have got The Roundhouse firmly in their grasp - and the atmosphere in the venue is electric.
This is Don Broco's second headline UK tour this year, amongst a handful of festival appearences and the only new addition to the setlist is 'You Wanna Know'. Not saying the setlist wasn't up to a good standard, it could perhaps have just been made a little more exciting if we'd been given a teaser for the new album.
'Thug Workout' produces the biggest push up squad to date and the Broco boys get thoroughly involved with the audience during the wall of death. There's certainly one thing Don Broco have learned over the past 12 months, and that's how to lift a venue off their feet and create utter mayhem on the floor, creating an insane buzz amongst all present.
Mentioning that they're now taking some downtime to focus on the new record, let's hope they come back in full force for next year's festival season, with lots of tasty new tricks up their sleeves.
