There are cover versions and then there are cover versions. ‘Hounds of Love’ is none of the above.  Let’s face it, doing other people’s stuff the last refuge of the creatively bankrupt; either b-side fodder (and “cool” positioning exercise) when all the “exclusive” live versions have run out, or easy pickings for X-Factor A&R departments after a familiar hit that won’t frighten the horses.
