Radio 1 have caused controversy by refusing to play the tribute record for legendary DJ John Peel who died in 2004.
The song is cover of The Buzzcock’s ‘Ever Fallen In Love’ featuring the likes of Roger Daltrey, Robert Plant, and Elton John and was recorded to raise money for Amnesty International reports The Sun.
The station has said that it will not play the record because it does not fit their music policy which is bound to cause a furore within Peel’s hordes of fans.
Peel worked for the station for over thirty five years and is widely regarded as it greatest ever presenter which makes Radio 1’s decision even more odd.
