Inside the insane fan theories...

Someone better wake up Taylor Swift. It’s going to be a busy week for blondie as, according to twitter, she’s releasing a new album on Friday. I wonder if she knows yet?

We are hypothetically prepping for Taylor’s next album...fan theories that one is coming in time for Record Store Day actually feels quite convincing? As the Record Store Day's first global ambassador, the only known offering from Taylor on the day itself will be a 7” of The Lakes and The Lakes Original Version. While fans will 100% go nuts over the release, forums are spiralling over a comment made by some unknown local record store owner. With intel talking about a remark about a new release from Taylor that will be in “high demand”, they said “i’m going to have a line around the block”. Mentioning a new EP, they were apparently told to “prepare for crowds”...

While it could be easy to shrug all that off as loose chit chat, the evidence just keeps on mounting. Here are the major players…

The Deux Moi Stamp of Approval

The famous celebrity intel account Deux Moi has been right about a lot of things. Sharing early tip offs about major celebrity moments from Kim and Kanye’s divorce, Beyoncé’s vogue cover, Emrata’s pregnancy and more, the page’s anonymous sources and ‘blind items’ seem to have some major insight. And the newest tip-off? A new Taylor record.

Sharing anon submissions about a “big music announcement coming on April 15th”, and then a more direct one about Taylor’s most “ethereal album yet”, it teases about long-awaited collaborations, one with a long time feud (Katy Perry?) and one so unexpected no one would guess.

A couple days later a new tip off came in about a Taylor and Cardi B collab, and who would ever have guessed that…

The Lana Connection

While Jack Antonoff was busy winning a Grammy, his major collaborators Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey were nowhere to be seen at the event. However, after the fact, the group shared the sweetest family picture…taken in Vegas. Clearing spending time together, Lana and Taylor have both declared mutual admiration for each other, but haven’t collaborated yet. Possibly until now? On the same day, Lana’s father posted a photo of himself in a studio with the caption "recording a beautiful ethereal album", adding further fuel to the fire that Ethereal is coming soon...featuring a highly-anticipated Lana collab that would tick off another of Deux Moi’s hints.

The more…insane hints

Okay, now please indulge my insanity for a moment as we dip our toes into the unhinged Swiftie pool. Any true Taylor fan knows about two accounts in particular — Taylor Nation and The All Knower. Both seem to have connections with Taylor or her label: Taylor Nation in particular has been part of Taylor’s teasing games for a long time. Considered to be omniscient when it comes to Taylor gossip, all of their posts are meticulously picked apart for clues.

...and this week they both posted something quite random. Taylor Nation shared the Spotify canvas for 'Hey Stephen', an album track off Fearless, while The All Knower shared 'Renegade', Taylor’s collab with Big Red Machine. Both would feel totally unimportant if it wasn’t for one detail: both tracks are exactly 4 minutes 14 seconds long, and we know Taylor loves her silly little number clues. If the album were to be release on Friday, the 14th of April would be the announcement…

And if that wasn’t enough… let’s do some maths: 14/4/22 = 1 + 4 + 4 + 2 + 2 = 13. Her favourite number, the key to all.

She’s an evil genius.

Maybe we’ve cracked it or maybe we’re about to get a hefty pie to the face but it’s been a while since we heard from Taylor and I think everyones a bit confused about which era we’re in now. Somewhere between Red, Evermore and a random 1989 single release? It would be very classic chaotic Taylor to drop something totally new out of nowhere.

So pick your side: are you a believer or non-believer?
