It may be just less than one day until the gates to Glastonbury Festival 2015 officially open, but names are still being added - with it announced that Charlotte Church, Ken Livingstone and Pussy Riot will be making appearances to talk about politics

They'll be joining Molly Scott Cato, Pat Kane, and Shami Chakrabarti on Sunday for a politics debate in Glasto's Left Field - talking about the 'calamitous change' that could come about in the next five years of Conservative Government.

"The next five years threaten calamitous change – the NHS could be privatised, the unions outlawed, the UK dissolved and England become an independent country outside the EU,@ say the Left Field. "So join Labour’s Ken Livingstone, the Green Party, musician and ‘Yes’ campaigner Pat Kane as well as the legendary Shami Chakrabarti and Charlotte Church for some A class discussions on the next few years and beyond. Chaired by John Harris, Guardian journalist."

Other lunchtime debates throughout Glasto include Pussy Riot in conversation on Friday, as well as 'Venceremos! The New Radical Movements' with Podemos, Syriza, Radical Independence Campaign & Independents for Frome with Cat Boyd, Pippa Goldfinger, Marina Prentoulis, and Sirio Canós. Saturday will then play host to 'Feminism without Borders' with Reni Eddo-Lodge, Black Liberation Collective, Shanice McBean from Sisters Uncut, Sue Marsh, and Zrinka Bralo of Migrant and Refugee Communities.

Billy Bragg's Left Field stage also features Enter Shikari, Buzzcocks, Sam Duckworth and many more. Debates, comedy, music, radical ideas, songwriting sessions and plenty of audience participation, the Left Field has long been programmed by Billy Bragg to provide the ultimate mix of pop and politics.

"This year at Left Field, our agenda has been set by the Tories," said Bragg in a statement. "No, we’re not turning into Right Field, we’re simply responding to the challenges that people will face under the new administration.

He continued: "We’ve got great live music from bands with something to say, comedians who pull no punches and our ever popular Radical Round Up, which draws in singer-songwriters who want to change the world. And for the first time, the Sunday Assembly will be bringing their atheistic Sunday morning sing-along to Left Field.

"We all need to re-charge our activism this year, so come on down and join the debate about the way forward. The fight-back starts here!"

Glastonbury 2015 takes place at Worthy Farm from 24 - 28 June at Worthy Farm in Somerset, with Kanye West, Florence + The Machine, The Who, Paul Weller, Patti Smith, Pharrell Williams and loads more also set to perform.
