Bon Iver's Justin Vernon has cast further doubts over the band's future, saying "we just don't have any plans" for future albums or tours.
Vernon founded Bon Iver back in 2007, and they released their debut album, For Emma, Forever Ago, in the same year. Four years later, in 2011, they released its follow-up, Bon Iver, Bon Iver. Since then though, they've fallen largely silent.
Back in 2013, Vernon told Triple J, "I don't really write songs anymore[...] I really have to be in a specific headspace to even begin to illuminate an idea that would create another Bon Iver record, and I'm just not there."
He's still been busy though - the weekend before last, Vernon joined Kanye West on stage at Glastonbury to perform 'Lost In The World'. West called him "one of the baddest white boys on the planet", revealing that the pair have been making music together.

It's perhaps no surprise, then, that Vernon has reiterated Bon Iver's stagnation in a new interview. Speaking to Grantland, he said: “I definitely care about the Bon Iver thing a lot, but it’s kind of my thing and there’s only so much time you can spend with yourself before you just become an asshole. So you gotta push it."
"As far as putting a record together, I don’t really know what’s happening. Our show is our main focus. We don’t have anything booked after this. We don’t have any plans. We’re not being secretive - we just don’t have any plans. It’s just about, Play the show and put all of our energy into one show - for once in my life, let’s just play one fucking show and care just about this one show for a goddamn change."
The show he's referring to is a headline slot at Eaux Claires, which he also co-curated with his friend Aaron Dessner of The National. Eaux Claires Festival takes place on 17 and 18 July in Wisconsin.
