Jimmy Page dampens hopes of a Led Zeppelin reunion

He 'can't foresee a return'

Jimmy Page has dashed the hopes of many Led Zeppelin fans, saying that he 'can't foresee' a reunion occurring any time soon because nobody can agree on the right reasons to reform.

There’s been a mountain of rumours over the last few years suggesting the band will reunite for a highly profitable tour, with Page occasionally expressing interest in its possibility. He even spoke on the legendary rockers taking the Glastonbury headline spot.

However, it looks as if Page’s opinion had changed when he recently spoke with The Daily Beast. He spoke about several attempts at reuniting, including a large London gig in 2007.

"We tried it a few times," he said. "It always seemed to be done in a hurry and it never worked. That’s why the O2 show was done with such intent. We rehearsed loads so that Jason-John’s son-felt like he was part of the band and not just some novelty. We all needed it to be that way. But I can’t foresee doing it again, because we all have to agree and agree for the right reasons."

Back in February, the guitar wizard spoke about getting fit again and returning to the stage, as well as forming a new group.

""I intend to be playing myself. The music that I would do goes before Led Zeppelin, and beyond. So obviously it's a major part of my musical career so I'm going to play their music. Why wouldn't I?"

Let's hope that this dissapointing news has a silver lining and Page begins to tour again.
