Wolf Alice respond to Fat White Family criticism: 'F**k off'

'If the biggest problem you’ve got in your life is Wolf Alice and fucking indie music then you've got it fine'

Wolf Alice have responded to criticism from Fat White Family, who slammed them as 'landfill indie' after both bands toured together last year.

During the European leg of their My Love Is Cool tour back in November, Wolf Alice were joined by Fat Whites - before Saul Adamczewski dropped out.

“I wont be doing the rest of the fat whites tour because I cannot stand to listen to Wolf Alice for another night," he said. "The Fat Whites sound ok without me so go check them out! you might even get to see a penis!"

Following up in an interview with Time Out, Lias Saoudi added: “There’s so much landfill indie and crap industry fodder at the moment. All these horrible bands like Slaves and Peace and Wolf Alice. All this absolute drivel for angry nine-year-olds.”

As DIY reports, Time Out today asked Wolf Alice for a reponse.

“A feud through Time Out!” laughs singer Ellie Rowsell. “No, there’s an element of truth in what they’re saying. But I don’t think they should call out other bands, you know? It’s a bit presumptuous of him and a bit mean. We’re all learning and adjusting all the time. And also I listened to their album and I couldn’t hear a word he was saying.”

Bassist Theo Ellis then succinctly added: "Also, fuck off."

Drummer Joel Amey quite diplomatically then concluded: “Honestly, if the biggest problem you’ve got in your life is Wolf Alice and fucking indie music then you’ve got it fine.”

This comes after Wolf Alice responded to criticism of modern indie bands from Noel Gallagher, telling Gigwise that his claims were 'dull' and he should just 'write some fucking tunes'

Meanwhile, Wolf Alice are set to support Mumford & Sons along with Alabama Shakes, Mystery Jets, Nick Mulvey, Baaba Maal, Borns, The Very Best, Beatenberg, and Baio at London's Hyde Park as part of British Summer Time on Friday 8 July.
