"There will be moments where we're really in control, and moments when we kind of make sure the crowd's fully engaged", says Spector frontman Fred Macpherson on the difficulties of playing their new album, Moth Boys, to a fresh crowd at Reading 2015.

Gigwise sat down with the London quartet to ask about their festival careers as both punters and as a band.

Macpherson recalled: "My first Reading was 2003. It was the year after The Strokes and The White Stripes headlined, and Jack White came on to play the guitar solo in 'New York City Cops'. My Mum didn't let me go that year; it caused a rift in our relationship that we never recovered from."

We spanned the topics of the longevity of the dance tent, Kings of Leon and the ultimate line-up, featuring Abba and Shabba Ranks.
