Jay Z, Drake, Dr. Dre and Pharrell and Diddy have been named the world’s five “Highest Paid Rap Acts” of 2015, according to Forbes’ latest hip hop cash report.
Ranking number one, Diddy reportedly earned $60 million in the last year from a number of different investments including Ciroc Vodka, water brand AQUAhydrate, clothing line Sean John and Revolt TV.
Jay Z reportedly raked in $56 million, with Forbes highlighting three main streams, his entertainment company Roc Nation, luxury champagne brand Armand de Brigand and 22 concerts with his wife, Beyonce.
Drake follows at number three with a cool $39.5 million, his highest ranking so far on the “Cash Kings” list. The Meek Mill destroyer grossed an average of almost $1 million per show across 50 tour dates, as well as scrounging a few more pennies with the release of If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late and endorsement deals with Nike and Sprite.
Dr. Dre obliterated last year’s Forbes list with $620 million, the highest entertainer total ever recorded by Forbes after Apple’s $3 billion acquisition of Beats. This year, he’s at number four with a woeful (cough) $33 million, Forbes referencing his executive-produced N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton and the release of his long awaited comeback album.
Pharrell Williams ranks at number five this year with earnings of $32 million, collecting mountains of cash through production, coaching on The Voice, tours and working with clothing lines Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream.
The bottom half of the top 10 includes heavyweights like Eminem ($31 million), Kanye West ($22 million), Wiz Khalifa ($21.5 million), Nicki Minaj ($21 million) and Birdman ($18 million).
