London brothers Over Sands have been causing quite a stir since releasing their debut EP just before Christmas, reaping praise from tastemakers both sides of the Atlantic. 'Gyroscope' is a stand out track from this EP, and we're thrilled to reveal the video exclusively on Gigwise below.
The moody video is set in a forest near a beach and shows a distressed looking man running towards the shore with a garden spade. He gets there and starts digging before a mysterious woman comes along, bedraggled, as he simultaneously discovers a treasure chest in the sand. It's beautifully shot.
The location is possibly a choice that reflects the influence that coastal areas have had on the duo. The EP was partly recorded at a remote beach house on the east English coast and synthesised field recordings have made their way on to this brooding, cinematic gem - their love for the sea is evident.
With their ethereal vocals, shimmering guitars, and wandering synthsisers - and this powerfully shot video to emphasise their sound - it wouldn't surprise us to see Over Sands making it high up the playlists of many more major radio stations in the coming weeks.
Big things await Over Sands after this impeccably produced single. They're certainly in the right place for things to happen - their label B3SCI put out Jungle's EP, The Heat. So watch this space.
