Tom Jones used the C-word and we don't know how to feel

This is like Father Christmas calling Rudolph a w***er

Tom Jones - music's grandfather figure / a slightly sleazier version of Father Christmas - has shocked the world to its very core this afternoon. He used the C-word.

To be fair, it's hardly surprising he's lashing out - Jones was recently axed as a judge - sorry, coach - on BBC's flailing talent show The Voice. Don't be angry Tom, if you were a woman, you'd have been 48 years too old to be hired in the first place.

Jones didn't use the C-word about his BBC former employers though - rather to refer to a fellow grandfather figure with the greatest name in music, Engelbert Humperdinck. The pair were close friends back in the day, but fell out after Humperdinck left the pair's manager, Gordon Mills.

Speaking to the Metro to promote his new album and book, Jones was asked if he could ever patch things up with his rival. "No," he replied. "It's as I say - once a c*** always a c***." To be fair, there is a slight chance that the word starred out is the lesser of two curse words. But we don't think so.

Back in 2013, Humperdinck attempted to patch things up with Jones, tweeting, "Hey Tom, I think we should put our differences aside and record a duet in the honour of Gordon Mills. What do you think?"

The tweet was met with silence. It was awkward.
