22 of the UK’s independent festivals - including Secret Garden Party, Camp Bestival and Green Man - have come together to raise funds for refugees in northern France. They have all offered a pair of tickets - meaning there will be 44 winners.
The majority of the funds will go to Aid Box Convoy: Bristol – who are helping refugees in the Grand Synthe camps, and aiming to raise £25,000. The team have done some remarkable humanitarian work in supporting Medicine Sans Frontiers (Doctors Without Borders), and other volunteers who are working tirelessly setting up vital supplies and negotiating with councils and politicians to provide a basic living condition.
Speaking of the support that festivals have given to this project, Imogen McIntosh of Acid Box Convoy said: "We are absolutely delighted to have this support from 22 of the UK’s leading festivals and could not have asked for a better platform to raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis happening on our doorstep. It is support like this that not only will raise much needed funds but also has the potential to trigger support from a large number of the UK population."
This competition could go a long way in helping provide such amenities as arctic sleeping bags, wood, building supplies, fuel and more. Plus any donation means you’re in with a chance of winning a festival ticket to any of the following:
