The wait is finally over - today, Lauren Laverne announces the nominees for this year's coveted Mercury Prize on her BBC Radio 6 Music show. Follow the announcement as it unfolds here.
Yesterday, bookies named Everything Everything as the frontrunner for the prize, which last year was awarded to Young Fathers for their debut LP Dead. Other artists with short odds include Jamie xx, The Maccabees, Sleaford Mods and Wolf Alice.
Don't pay too much attention to that though - the bookies rarely get the winner right. Here's who Gigwise thinks deserves the gong.
Lauren Laverne will be announcing the 12 shortlists artists between 10am and 1pm today (16 October) and we'll be listing the nominees as they're announced below. Stay tuned.
