Deftones have stormed back with a brilliant track from long-awaited new album, Gore. Check out 'Prayers/Triangles' below.
The band, whose last record was the impeccable Koi No Yokan in 2012, are set to release Gore on 8 April.
The first taster of it, 'Prayers/Triangles', is pure classic Deftones: a journey between pure adrenaline and a considered emotional landscape, a rush of hard rock and a subtle signpost or two towards their 1980s synthpop influences - all wrapped up in that epic world-conquering White Pony wall of sound.
“Out of respect for Pac, Big, Stevie, Michael, Hendrix, GORE is ONE of the greatest albums not the greatest, just one of," said frontman Chino Moreno of Gore, seemingly mocking Kanye West in the process.
The track-listing for GORE is as follows:
1. Prayers/Triangles
2. Acid Hologram
3. Doomed User
4. Geometric Headdress
5. Hearts and Wires
6. Pittura Infamante
7. Xenon
8. (L)MIRL
9. Gore
10. Phantom Bride
11. Rubicon
Deftones will be hitting the road again after they pulled the remainder of their tour dates this month when they revealed that they were among those in the Bataclan when ISIS terrorists struck an Eagles Of Death Metal gig - killing 89 people.
