As you no doubt already know - it's a Christmas event that tends to steal the limelight of the actual birth of Christ - the John Lewis advert was revealed this morning, and it featured an Oasis cover by Gigwise favourite Aurora.
The Norwegian singer covered 'Half The World Away' for the advert, which sees a little girl sending a Christmas present to a man on the moon - which is, if we were being pedantic, more than half the world away.
Check it out below
Many music fans are rightly delighted by the new song.
half the world away as John Lewis song has made Christmas for me

Decent song choice for the John Lewis Christmas advert #HalfTheWorldAway

Only John Lewis could make an Oasis song mildly acceptable...

Some Oasis fans, however, are angry.
John Lewis should've just stuck to Oasis's version of that song #manonthemoon

Turned off the John Lewis advert after just 5 seconds. How could they ruin a Oasis song. #JohnLewisXmasAd

John Lewis ads are great because every year I get to find out which song they've absolutely ruined, it's Oasis this year, cheers lads

Okay John Lewis, stop this madness right now. You've already butchered The Smiths and The Cure in the name of Christmas, now Oasis. ARGH.

And others are just generally unimpressed.
John Lewis has taken the "fey slowed down vocal cover of a pop song" and absolutely committed to it.

No matter how breathy and whimsical it is I'm not going to be able to get past that the #JohnLewis ad song is The Royle Family theme tune.
