The Maccabees are set to release a career-spanning box set called ‘The Complete Collection’ following their split in July.
The six-album limited edition set includes all four of their studio albums plus a bonus disc of b-sides, rarities, acoustic versions and unreleased studio track ‘Nimm’. Also included will be a DVD of the Elephant Days film by Jams Caddick and James Cronin, tracing the making of the band’s final album ‘Marks To Prove It’.
The box set, released on October 20 on Fiction Records, emerges alongside news that former Maccabees singer Orlando Weeks has teamed up with comedian Paul Whitehouse on a new album and book called ‘The Gritterman’, the story of a road gritter who is made redundant. Released on September 7, the book comes accompanied by a soundtrack album narrated by Whitehouse.
