Gun have revealed the latest cut from their forthcoming album Favourite Pleasures and it might just be their most catchy song yet. An incredibly fun jolt of purely indulgent rock n’ roll, ‘Silent Lovers’ is a song sure to put a smile on any face.
There’s a distinctly hedonistic glam rock feel to it with the influence of Bowie clearly being heard. The band describe the song as their homage to the late singer: “The one thing we noticed most of all when re-listening to his songs was his ability to completely alter the style of writing while maintaining that Bowie-esque feel. A unique and difficult thing to pull off. Something we've always wanted to achieve with GUN,” detailed frontman Dante Gizzi.
Recorded in the band’s own Morse Code Studios in Paisley, Scotland, ‘Silent Lovers’ continues the second coming of Gun following their reformation in 2008 after an 11 year absence. The five-piece have undergone numerous line-up changes in their 30-year history, however, are back and stronger than ever with the new album set to follow 2015’s Frantic.
‘Favourite Pleasures’ is due out on September 15.
