It’s quite possibly the weirdest Christmas single of all time – and now you can download it for free. Recorded by Kasabian’s Serge Pizzorno and Noel Fielding, ‘Can’t Wait For Christmas’ is the duo’s latest track under the guise of Loose Tapestries. The group, who had previously released the soundtrack to zany E4 comedy Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy, have even managed to rope in Hollywood superstar Idris Elba for a guest rap.
The festive tune had long been in the pipeline for the unconventional twosome and it was finally revealed last week. As you’d expect, it’s a little bit bonkers. The bombastic funk track features the guys giving thanks for their gifts of socks, yachts, Rolex watches and Christmas trainers.

Luther and The Wire actor Idris Elba, who also DJs under the moniker Driis, also rocks up halfway through the single to deliver a quirky rap about sipping on Baileys on Christmas day.
Pizzorno spoke to NME in 2014 about enlisting Elba on the track. "We've got Idris Elba rapping on a Christmas song,” he revealed. “He was doing the Mandela film at the time and we were laughing, saying, 'Imagine doing that and then coming down and dropping a Christmas rap on a medieval psych-prog record.'"
