King Krule is preparing to unveil a new album under the guise of an exciting project, A New Place 2 Drown. Alongside his brother Jack, the ‘Easy Easy’ artist will operate under his real name, Archy Marshall, for the multi-media release due later today.
Marshall, using a recently created Instagram account, first teased the project with an image captioned ‘ANP2D coming soon’.
Since then, details of the release have been filtering through slowly and it’s now been revealed that A New Place 2 Drown will comprise of an album, a book and a short film by Will Robson Scott.
A trailer for the multi-format project can be seen below:
Pitchfork have also shared an early glimpse of the visual 208-page book released by Topsafe London. The publication contains a mixture of drawings, photography and poetry.
The enigmatic Marshall, formerly recognised as Zoo Kid, has been all-but silent for the past year or so – with his last album, 6 Feet Beneath the Moon, released in 2013. But an imminent return, via True Panther/XL, will no doubt thrust the 21-year-old firmly back into focus.
