Lemmy’s favourite bar in Los Angeles will host a tribute to the late rock and roll legend this week. The Motorhead frontman passed away unexpectedly in December due to an extremely aggressive cancer.
The Rainbow on Hollywood’s Sunset Strip was Kilmister’s watering hole of choice and he would often be found there whiling the time away. Owner Mikael Maglieri even moved Lemmy’s favourite video game into his home for his final hours.
The bar will host a 12 hour memorial to Lemmy, ‘a dear friend and loved one’, on 9 January. They announced the event on Facebook with an image of the musician playing his favourite game.
Join us Saturday, January 9th as we say goodbye to a dear friend and loved one. We will open our doors at 2pm.

The ‘Ace Of Spades’ icon, born Ian Fraser Kilmister, died aged 70 on 28 December – just two days after learning of his cancer diagnosis. Motorhead released a statement following the frontman’s passing, stating: “We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren't words.”
Following the news, a host of tributes from the world of music came flooding in via social media from the likes of Flea, Corey Taylor and Ozzy Osbourne. Dave Grohl even honoured his dear friend by getting inked with a Motorhead tattoo.
