Backroad Anthem’s lead singer, Craig Srickland has been found dead a week after he went missing during a duck-hunting trip in Oklahoma. The vocalist was 29.
On 28 December 2015, the country band posted on their Facebook that Strickland’s father notified them that his son had been without contact with his son for more than 24 hours.
Strickland had left on 27 December 2015 with his friend Chase moorland to go hunting and apparently got caught up in Winter Storm Goliath, which brought damaging wind, snow and ice to the Midwest.
Morland even tweeted, "In case we don't come back," he wrote, "[we] are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. #IntoTheStorm."
In case we don't come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. 😅 #IntoTheStorm

The boat that the pair were using was found capsized and Morlan was found dead. Strickland’s hunting dog was later found alive.
The band have since paid tribute:
Today we lost our brother, our best friend, our bandmate. Craig was the most amazing person whose passion for life...
