The countdown of the top 5 of the BBC's Sound of 2016 has continued, with Nao clinching the bronze medal position.

Earlier this week, WSTRN and Mura Masa shared fifth place, while Blossoms came in fourth. The top five (or six in this case) are taken from the fifteen-strong longlist that was announced towards the end of last year, which includes the likes of Jack Garratt, Alessia Cara and Izzy Bizu.

Hackney-based musician Nao, who has come in third, makes minimalist, soul-drenched R&B - think Banks or FKA Twigs. She also shares Twigs' penchant for creative, disturbing videos - as is demonstrated perfectly in the brilliant 'Bad Blood' (not that one).

Speaking of NAO, Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac said, "Nao has a truly unique voice that sounds completely refreshing amongst the current landscape of female artists. She’s honed a sound that is irresistibly groove-laden."

The top five countdown continues this week. Our money's on Alessia Cara and Jack Garratt nabbing the last two places.
