Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker has confirmed that not only have the band finished work on their new album, but that details of a world tour are coming soon...
Last year saw the band go through a less than amicable split with founding member and guitarist Tom DeLonge, before he was replaced by Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba.
The band have since been playing shows and working in the studio, after scrapping 16 songs in order to write “the best material we’ve written or put out in years”. Now, it seems the record is done and more live shows are on the horizon.
“The album’s done, I’ll be honest with everybody,” Barker told Punkvideosrock.com's Robert Herrera. “It’s just a matter of picking what 12 to 14 songs are going to be on the album. I think we wrote 26 or 27? So everyone right now is really pushing for their favourites.”
He added that a new single would be revealed in the coming months, with a tour announcement in the next six weeks.
Recent months have also seen Barker slam DeLonge for 'trying to make Blink sound like Coldplay or U2', while DeLonge said leaving the band has 'allowed him to inspire other artists'.
