Game Of Thrones fans appear to be confused, mourning the loss of author George RR Martin rather than the late great, Beatles producer.
News of Sir George's death broke this morning, with the likes of Ringo Starr, Liam Gallagher and Paddy Considine paying tribute to the 90-year-old music mogul - before Sir Paul McCartney wrote a lengthy and heartfelt tribute honouring his friend and 'the fifth Beatle'.
However, it seems a great many people are at a loss for the wrong reasons, mourning his namesake and the fact that they may never finish Game Of Thrones (or just trying and failing to be funny...)
RIP George Martin thank you for the Song of Ice and Fire book series the Game of Thrones TV show will lose direction now 😫😫😫😫💔💔💔💔 so sad 🙁

As far as we're aware, the author of the best-selling fantasy series and sword-wielding spin-off TV series is still alive.
