Thousands of fans came together to honour David Bowie at this weekend's Isle Of Wight festival, honouring the 'Heroes' legend with a mass sing-along while wearing David Bowie masks.
The Aladdin Sane masks were sold across the festival site this weekend, with proceeds benefitting the charity Stand Up To Cancer. Saturday afternoon then saw thousands flock to the main stage in their masks, before Jack Whitehall invited everyone to sing-along with 'Heroes', 'Rebel Rebel' and 'All The Young Dudes', as clips of Bowie's final ever UK live performance from Isle Of Wight Festival in 2004 were shown on the big screens.
Before The Corrs took to the stage, Andrea Corr and Spandau Ballet's Gary Kemp surprised fans with a rendition of 'Starman'.
Speaking to Gigwise about his friendship with Bowie, festival boss John Giddings said: "Headlining the Isle Of Wight in 2004 was his last UK show. I represented him for 30 years, so we'll be printing Ziggy Stardust masks and selling them for Stand Up To Cancer. We're going to print 20,000, get everyone to wear them, play a David Bowie song and remember what an incredible talent he was. the truth is there's only one David. I'm sure loads of bands will pay tribute in their own way, but that's up to them."
He added: "Over the last 10 years, instead of saying 'hello', he'd just say 'I'm not touring', and I would say 'I'm not asking'. He was very funny."
