Zayn Malik has spoken out about “the worst anxiety of my career” after cancelling his appearance at the Capital Summertime Ball at the last minute.
The former One Direction singer was due to make his UK solo debut at the event, where the likes of Little Mix, Ariana Grande and Years & Years also performed. However, 30 minutes before he was due onstage, organisers announced over the speaker system that he would no longer be attending.
Though the news initially sparked anger from frustrated fans, a subsequent statement detailing his struggles with anxiety shed light on his cancellation.
