Paris' Le Bataclan is set to re-open on 17 November, with Pete Doherty headlining the opening shows. These will be the first shows at the venue since the horrific terrorist attacks which took place there in November 2015.
The venue is opening its doors for the first time since 89 people were tragically killed at an Eagles of Death Metal gig almost exactly a year ago, on 13 November.
The attack that took place meant that the building itself had to undergo renovation work, although the venue announced in a Facebook post that they would be retaining its original layout and that they would "try to preserve its warmth and friendliness", and that they want to "maintain the popular and festive spirit that it has always had."
Pete Doherty will be the first of the acts to play the newly opened Bataclan, with headline shows on 16 and 17 November. Since April, when it was first announced that Doherty would play the venue once it re-opened, an extra date was added due to unprecedented demand, and both sold out very quickly.
Youssou N'Dour, the Senegalese singer, will play the venue on the following two nights, on the 18 and 19 November. Laurent Garnier will host a club night on 24 November.
