More about: Black Sabbath
They said it was the end, but then Tommy Iommi said it might not be. Then it was the end and Iommi again said it might not be. Now it turns out it definitely, absolutely, certainly, without question is the end for Black Sabbath.

The legendary rockers – perhaps the first and finest metal band – played their farewell show on Saturday but guitarist Iommi had said they weren’t closing the door on further one-off shows. However yesterday they posted a message on Instagram bidding their fans adieu, with the simple message “The End”.
Last month Iommi, who has been battling cancer, told Planet Rock that Black Sabbath have only decided not to embark on major tours but are leaving the door open to future activity.
The metal icon first reflected on the conclusion of band's farewell tour, “I'm going to miss playing on stage because that has been my whole life, the band and playing on stage.
“I like [playing on stage] and I'm sure it's not going to end like that; I'm sure we might do a one-off show somewhere. It's just the touring for me – it's time to stop roaming the world and be at home for a bit ... I'm still going to write and put stuff out.”
However this latest post suggests that there are no irons in the fire and that the band as we know it have, like an English middle-order batsman of the 90s, fallen one short of a half-century. Fare thee well, Sabbath.
