For most people the simple thought of Bill Murray is enough to brighten up their day. Perhaps only David Attenborough and Michael Palin are more beloved than the Ghostbusters star. Now it seems he wants to go the extra mile to cheer you up.

‘Happy Street’ is the new single from Paul Shaffer (him off of David Letterman’s show) And The World’s Most Dangerous Band. It’s a jaunty, jazzy, relentlessly upbeat orchestral pop number and features Murray on vocals. He’s also in the video in animated form, with a bunch of film references thrown in (the Punxatawney Times!)

Murray has never been shy of showing off his vocal talents. His dulcet tones were most recently heard belting out ‘The Bear Necessities’ in last year’s surprisingly enjoyable remake of The Jungle Book, and he famously covered Roxy Music and Nick Lowe in every hipster’s favourite film, 2003’s Lost in Translation (in fairness, it is still heartbreaking).
